About the Maker - Kim Markel

Kim Markel is a first-generation American artist and designer. Based in the Hudson Valley, Kim's studio is driven by curiosity and the desire to create captivating objects through reimagining materials and processes.

Before beginning her studio in 2016, Kim developed public policy at the city, state, and federal levels. She holds bachelor and masters degrees from Carnegie Mellon and currently teaches at Parsons School of Design
